Diagnosis
To be eligible for certain NI categories, an employee must have aCOSRS or a COMPS pension scheme. For example, for NI category 'D' , aCOSRS pension scheme is required. The employee concerned does not yethave a pension scheme, or the pension scheme entered on infotypePensions (0071) is not valid for the complete first payrollperiod that corresponds to the infotype National Insurance(0069) start date.

System Response
The system allows you to create the infotype record.

Procedure
After creating this record, you should create a &V1& pension scheme(Infotype 0071) record for the employee.

Procedure for System Administration
To check your pension scheme types, go to the relevant Customizing stepunder : Payroll Great Britain-> Payroll Accounting -> Pension Schemes.To then see what type of pension scheme is involved, select a pensionscheme and choose Pension Scheme Definition.
