SAP Message 3E038 - Enter either amount or rate

Diagnosis
The additional payments data you entered does not correspond to therules in the Wage Type Characteristics view (V_T511).
You have either

  • Left both amount and number/unit blank

    • or
    • Entered both amount and number/unit

      • System Response
      The wage type requires a different combination of amount andnumber/unit. The system cannot process your entry. The terminationprocess failed.

      Procedure
      Display the relevant wage type in view V_T511 and check the inputcombination for the Amount and Number/unit fields and setup the wage type with the correct details.
