Diagnosis
You tried to start the layout editor and the "Grapical Screen Painter"option is set in your Workbench settings. However, the graphical layouteditor is not available. Possible reasons include:
- You have insufficient memory resources on your frontend to start thegraphical layout editor process.
- The system was unable to find the Graphical Screen Painter program.
- The system was unable to execute the Graphical Screen Painterprogram.
- Your frontend operating system does not support the graphical layouteditor. It is supported on the following platforms
Windows NT
Windows 95
Windows 98 and subsequent releases
- You do not use any GUI for Windows.

System Response
The Screen Painter automatically ignores the "Graphical Screen Painter"setting and opens the alphanumeric layout editor.

Procedure
You can change the "Graphical layout editorr" setting permanently bychoosing Settings -> Graphical layout editor and activating ordeactivating the graphical layout editor option. Any changes take effectthe next time a new screen is displayed, and are retained indefinitely.
