Diagnosis
You want to enter a material as a BOM item.

System Response
The system checks the material master record and finds the followingmaterial status:

• Cross-plant material status (Basic data view)


• Plant-specific material status (Work scheduling view)

In settings in Customizing (Material), at least one of these statusescontains one of the following values for field BOM itemnote:

• Error message


• Warning message

Procedure
Do one of the following:


• Error message

You cannot enter the material as a BOM item.
You can only enter a material as a BOM item if neither of its statuseshas the value Error message in field BOM itemnote.

• Warning message

You may need to check the material master record.
If you confirm the warning message, you can enter the material as aBOM item
