Diagnosis
You want to create the material you entered as a variant for anexisting BOM (-> variant BOM).
With a variant BOM, only one alternative BOM can be allocated toa material, so the alternative entered is ignored.
The alternative is determined and set internally by the system, and isof no relevance to the user for a variant BOM.
You want to change or display the BOM for a material. The material hasa variant BOM.
With a variant BOM, the allocation of material/plant/usage to analternative BOM is unique. So the system ignores the alternativeentered and determines the correct alternative.

Procedure

• Press ENTER. The alternative is removed.


• If you are in the Create function, a pop-up window appears.
Here,you can enter the material for which you want to create a BOMvariant.
