Diagnosis
You want to create a variant of an existing BOM using the material youhave entered (-> Variant BOM).

System Response
The system checks whether:
RESET N1
Variant BOMs are supported (in Customizing, underDefine modification parameters
There is already a BOM for the material
You can only create a variant BOM for a material that does notyet have a BOM.

Procedure
Check your entries for the material, plant and usage.

If maintenance of variant BOMs is set to inactive, contact your systemadministrator. The setting may need to be changed.

If a BOM already exists for the material you entered in the plant andwith the usage you entered, you can only create a variant for adifferent material.
