SAP Message 28077 - Key for object type &1 incomplete

Diagnosis
The syntax check found an error in an entry for an object. The objectkey entered was not complete.

System Response
The cursor marks where the error occurs.

Procedure
An object is accessed by entering the object identifier, class type,and object key:
(MATERIAL)(300)(NR='M4711').
Some object types, such as documents, have than one part to their key:
(DOCUMENT)(017)(TYPE=DRW, VERSION=00, PART=000, NR='bmw-ca31').
The settings for object identifier and object key are defined in theIMG for Classification.

  • In the Define object types step, an object identifier is defined
    • for each object type. This identifies the object type in dependencymaintenance functions. 'Material' is the object ID for materials.
    • In the Define object keys step, you see the object key for an
      • object type. The fields of the object key are referred to by a specialfield identifier. The object key for materials is the material number.The material number has the field ID 'NR'.
      The entries for this object are syntactically correct. However, theyare incomplete. This means that parts of the object key are missing.Complete your entry for the key accordingly.
