SAP Note 1515687 - DB6: Performance optimization DSO data activation

Component : BW DB2 Universal Database -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1515687 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
This SAP Note addresses performance improvements and reduction in data transfer during MPP-optimized DSO data activation by altering the distribution key configuration. The proposed solution involves changing the distribution key from the RECORD column to the semantic key columns of the DSO, thus allowing a collocated join and minimizing data redistribution across partitions. Implementation steps include setting the RSADMIN parameter DB6_DSO_TABLES_COLLOCATED to YES, ensuring the DSO activation queue tables are empty, and reactivating the DSOs. This reconfiguration aims to enhance activation process efficiency and is applicable from SAP NetWeaver BW 7.30 with Support Package SAPKW73002.
