SAP Note 1491797 - SLOW INSERT ON LOBS WHEN USING RETENTION AND SBP > 201005

Component : Oracle -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1491797 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Slow insertions on tables featuring LOB columns, such as TST03, SXMSCLUP, and VBDATA, result in a high number of buffer gets per single-row execution. This issue stems from the LOB table's placement in an ASSM tablespace and the use of the RETENTION clause, alongside the presence of substantial delete operations and specific Oracle SAP Bundle Patches post-May 2010. Resolution involves de-installing merge patch 9558995 linked to bug 9048185, switching LOB to PCTVERSION, or migrating to a non-ASSM tablespace. Further updates include Oracle patches inserted in newer SBPs for respective Oracle versions addressing Bug 9926087 issues.

Key words :
retention clause relative big delete operations, affected table oracle sap bundle patch greater, includes merge patch 9558995 solution bug #9926087, sql> alter table sapsr3, sap bundle patch sap_102045_201008, assm tablespace lob segment, sap bundle patch, deinstall merge patch 9558995, spool table tst03, current windows bundle
